A breaking news addition to Obama’s list…..

6) He can’t say for sure what his ‘position’ is on fair pay for women.

During a conference call held earlier in the morning, a Romney aide was unable to answer a straightforward question about the former governor’s position on the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009. “We’ll get back to you on that,” the aide replied. (And…a new hashtag is born that’s now trending in DC: #WellGetBackToYouOnThat)

Although the Romney campaign has since somewhat clarified his stance on whether or not he support equal pay for women, I do not consider attempts to pivot back to Obama’s alleged “war on women” to be a sufficient or satisfactory response.

Lily Ledbetter expresses best how I feel in a statement the Obama campaign issued this morning on her behalf while the Romney camp was floundering:

“If [Mitt] is truly concerned about women in this economy, he wouldn’t have to take time to ‘think’ about whether he supports the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.”

More about why Romney’s claim that President Obama is waging the ‘real’ war on women is absolutely ridiculous on Daily Kos. One thing’s for sure: it’s not hard to understand why the Republican party is facing such a huge gender gap. Women voters deserve much, much better than this.
